Eye Conditions & Diseases
in Active Clinical Trials

Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a disease of the eye’s retina that blurs the sharp, central vision you need for “straight-ahead” activities such as reading, sewing, and driving. BOCR West is conducting multiple Macular Degeneration trials now.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes and a leading cause of blindness. It occurs when diabetes damages the tiny blood vessels inside the retina. A healthy retina is necessary for good visual acuity. BOCR West is conducting multiple DR trials now.

Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy

This condition affects the retina, the light-sensitive tissue that lines the back of the eye, by preventing blood vessels from forming at the edges of the retina.  BOCR West is conducting proliferative vitreoretinopathy trials now.

Retinal Vein Occlusion

When a vein in the retina becomes blocked or “pinched off”, some of the blood flowing through the vein can hemorrhage out of the vein wall — this is called a retinal vein occlusion (RVO). BOCR West is conducting multiple RVO trials now.

Ocular Surface Disease

Dry eye is a disorder of the eye’s tear film which occurs due to tear deficiency or excessive tear evaporation. It causes eye discomfort and blurry vision. BOCR West is conducting an ocular surface disease trial currently.
