WHY is this medication prescribed?
Metipranolol is used to treat glaucoma, a condition in which increased pressure in the eye can lead to gradual loss of vision. Metipranolol decreases the pressure in the eye. This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
HOW should this medicine be used?
Metipranolol comes as eyedrops. Metipranolol eyedrops usually are applied twice a day, at evenly spaced intervals. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Metipranolol controls glaucoma but does not cure it. Continue to use metipranolol even if you feel well. Do not stop using metipranolol without talking to your doctor.
